Creating a promotion

The step-by-step setup process will ask you to give essential details about your campaign.

The most important ones to keep in mind are:

  • Code type: choose between unique, repeat and secure codes. This choice will determine how secure and controlled your promotion will be.
  • Redemptions per code: leave blank to make codes single use, or set a limit if you want a code to be valid on more than one purchase. Repeat-use codes come unlimited by default.
  • Redemption per campaign: restricts the total number of transactions using a code for a campaign. This is optional, but setting one can provide extra security and help projecting discounted transactions, especially if you choose a repeat-use code.
  • Number of codes:  only appropriate for csv downloads, which have a maximum limit of 50,000 codes. If you need more, you can always create a new batch during a campaign.
  • Vanity codes: adding a prefix or a suffix will help identify codes. For example, EML7hg9 and INST9o9H are easier to link with their respective campaigns than 7hg9 and 9o9H

Editing a promotion

Editing tools are readily available for each promotion on your Promotion Management Page. View information, edit details or duplicate promotions - these simplified options will save you time especially if you’re working with multiple distributors. 

You can change the duration of a campaign, pause it, or generate extra codes should you need any.
